Exciting Summer 2017 News for anyone with kids ages 9+
Thanks to a generous grant by SSM, we are able to offer funding for a new Life Skills group at Communication Innovations. It will be a 10 week summer session held at 4pm every Tuesday beginning in Mid-June for kids ages 9-14. These ages are a suggestion, not a hard rule. If you would like more information, please email Stephanie@madss.org  Communication Innovations will also be offering a social group and a Broadway class at 2pm and 3pm on Tuesdays at a reduced rate for this same age group.

National Sib-Shop Update:

On July 23rd and 24th, Katy Krantz Hager, a member of the Madison Area Down Syndrome Society's Board of Directors, attended the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention in Orlando.  Katy facilitated a Sibshop on Saturday for elementary-aged students, and on Sunday, presented a 90-minute workshop on effective advocacy for adults who have a sibling with Down syndrome.

Katy was joined by her parents, Russell and Carolyn Krantz, and her brother, Michael.  Some highlights of the conference were the opportunity to meet the entire cast of A&E's Born This Way, as well as the opportunity to meet and mingle with thousands of individuals with Down syndrome, and their families from all over the world.

For more information on Sibshops, contact Katy at kkrantz@uwalumni.com.  For more information on the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention, which will be held next year in Sacramento, visit the following website:  http://www.ndsccenter.org/the-convention/
