2014-2015 Board of Directors 

Comprised of business professionals, community leaders and people who have a personal relationship with someone who has Down syndrome with a new addition to the board this year of a self-advocate!

The board provides leadership decision-making, guidance to staff, fundraising support and specific expertise related to their personal and professional backgrounds. 

Meetings are held bi-monthly and both board and members actively participate in a variety of committees.  If you would like to learn more about serving on the Board of Directors or becoming more involved in the committees please contact us at ribboninfo@madss.org. Alicia Knasinski: Alicia joined MADSS in February 2014 as the Family Programs Manager. Alicia completed her dual Bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in Human Development and Family Studies as well as Social Welfare. Working with MADSS is Alicia’s most recent of the opportunities she has had since graduating to promote social justice, raise awareness of social justice issues, and facilitate programming to assist the residents of South Central Wisconsin with reaching their full potential.

Prior to coming to MADSS, Alicia worked as a case manager for various community-based and home-visiting programs with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin-Community Services. Alicia is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work part-time from her alma mater.

Troy Blodgett: Vice President, Wealth Management Advisor and Certified Special Needs Advisor (CSNA) with Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management.

Mike Hahn: Parent of a child with Down syndrome and does territory development for Pepsi Cola of Madison.


Heather Huismann: Self-advocate, graduate of Madison College, and Special Olympics athlete and coach.  She is employed by Metcalf's Sentry and is a frequent volutneer with the Red Cross.

Jan Kittoe: Director of Talent Management for American Family Insurance.


Nick Lombardino: Nick does business development and marketing for Farwell Project Advisors and is the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Edgewood College


Chris Patton: Parent of a child with Down syndrome and Administration Director with Epic.


Kayla Smith: Business Development for TermSync in Fitchburg, WI. 


Dave Witte: Parent of a child with Down syndrome and employed with the McFarland School  District.

Zane Torgrude: Grandparent of a child with Down syndrome and a Vice President and Senior Financial Planner with BMO/Harris Financial Advisors.
