MADSS Siblings Event
This workshop is for siblings with brothers & sisters with Ds to come together to learn about Down syndrome, and discuss their common hopes, concerns, and questions. Siblings will also have the opportunity to make social connections with peers who share similar experiences. Through interactive exercises, games, and role-playing scenarios, brothers and sisters learn more about disabilities in an accepting and confidential environment. In doing so with peers, individuals will gain early lessons on advocacy.
This workshop is an opportunity for siblings ranging in age from 6-18, who have brothers and sisters with Down syndrome. This is NOT a workshop for individuals with Down syndrome, but for their siblings. These workshops are based off of the model taught by Dr. Brian Skotko and Sue Levine, and they have provided many of the materials used and shared today. MADSS will provide snacks & refreshments
